Short answers

Answers to what the objects are made of, how they are produced, what can be engraved on them, how an order is placed and why some of our pages stop short of explaining a motif.

What is Silbûs û Tarî?

Silbûs û Tarî is a design studio working with the cultural geography between Dersim and Bingöl in eastern Turkey. Mountain forms, cacım weaving motifs and map coordinates are engraved into metal and glass. Objects are released in limited collections.

How are the collections divided?

By drawing language, not by province. Silbûs takes the mountain form and the coordinate; Tarî a softer, quieter line; Cacım the geometry of flatweave; Peri Valley and Munzur the topography of a valley and its water.

Are these handmade?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. The objects are not handwoven or hand-worked. Metal is laser-engraved and glass is engraved. What is traditional here is not the method but the order on the surface: the sequence and proportion of the motif are kept as they are in the weave.

Can I have a name, date or coordinate engraved?

Yes. Cases and keyrings can be engraved with a name, a date or a coordinate; glasses can carry a personal line along the bottom. Each product page lists what can be engraved on that particular object.

Why don't some pages explain what a motif means?

Because we do not have a verified source. There are many conflicting accounts of what a motif signifies or where a mountain's name comes from, and printing an unsourced sentence next to something we are selling would be unfair to the thing being described. These pages will grow as the sources do.

How is the artwork approved?

For engraved orders we send you a visual of the artwork, and nothing is produced until you approve it. You can ask for changes to the wording and the layout. Approval and correspondence run over WhatsApp.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship throughout Turkey. For destinations outside Turkey, ask us before ordering — cost and delivery time are confirmed with you in writing first.

Silbûs or Sülbüs — which spelling is right?

Both refer to the same mountain. Official records and common Turkish usage write Sülbüs; this site writes Silbûs, because the brand is called Silbûs û Tarî and we did not want to spell the same name two ways. Either spelling brings you to the same page.

What are the glasses for?

They are drinking glasses. The Silbûs water glass comes as a set of four; the Dersim and Bingöl glasses are sold individually.

How do I place an order?

Fill in the engraving form and send the summary through to WhatsApp. Everything after that — artwork approval, payment and shipping — is handled in that conversation. There is no checkout on this site at the moment.

What happens to an image I upload?

It is used only to produce your order. It will not appear in our promotion, on social media or in anyone else's order without your consent, and it is deleted if you ask us to delete it.
