CACIM
The geometry of a weave, on metal
The Cacım Collection rebuilds the geometric motifs of the region's flatweaves in a contemporary order. Motifs are laser-engraved into metal with the sequence and repetition of the original weave left intact.
Cacım is a flatweave, and its geometry comes from repetition: a motif is set, it enters a sequence, the sequence becomes a band. We keep that logic rather than lifting a single motif out of it and blowing it up.
What survives the move from wool to metal is not the texture — that is gone — but the proportion. How much space a motif takes, how many times it repeats, how wide the border sits against the body. Get those right and the weave is still legible on a surface it was never made for.
